Tata Chemicals Europe invests in the United Kingdom's first CCU project
In an innovative application of CCU Technology, the TCE plant will capture carbon dioxide from the flue gasses of TCE’s gas-fired 400 MW steam combined heat and power (CHP) plant, which supplies steam and electricity to the company’s Northwich, England, operations and other industrial businesses in the area.
Tanzanie Breweries becomes CO2 Self-Sufficient
At the Tanzania Brewery in Dar es Salaam, a member of the SABMiller Group, they produce both beer and soft drinks and have their own CO2 recovery plant for purifying the CO2 extracted from fermentation. However, due to the mix of several different products, an imbalance has occurred between the level of CO2 from the fermentation recovery and the actual need for CO2.
Coca-Cola CO2 Self-Sufficient, using Pentair's Self-Generating plant in Puerto Rico
In Puerto Rico, Caribbean, Union Engineering won a project from the local Coca-Cola bottler where the assignment was to ensure the bottler's independence from external carbon dioxide suppliers and secure a constant supply of top quality carbon dioxide. Further, the Coca-Cola bottler was facing increased difficulties in purchasing potassium permanganate from the market, a chemical traditionally used as an oxidation agent in the CO2 purification process.
As part of their ethanol production process, TSM Group sought a way to capture and repurpose the CO2 emissions generated from molasses fermentation—a byproduct of sugar manufacturing. Their goal was to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create a sustainable CO2 source for industrial use.
